About the Lion Heart’s TEENActive Program

TEENActive is a health and fitness program that seeks to expose youth ages 12 to 17 to exercise and the fundamentals of strength and conditioning to improve their

  • Strength
  • Stamina
  • Balance
  • Coordination
  • Overall health

The program is currently offered 3 days a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 3:30 p.m.) and interactive group classes for the youth that will also teach topics including healthy eating, physical activity, and goal-setting.


To be Eligible for our TeenActive Program, your teen must be:

  1. Between the ages of 12-17
  2. Have no medical conditions that directly lead to weight gain or loss
  3. Have a BMI less than 35kg/m2 (If above, a consultation will be required)
  4. Medically cleared for exercise by a physician.

IMPORTANT: A Guardian must be present at the time of signing.

Program Director

Lion Heart Fitness - Youth Program Director - Cudjoe Bamfo

Cudjoe Bamfo has been on staff at Lion Heart Health & Fitness since we opened our doors in 2015 and has been instrumental in initiating several special training programs during his time. He brings a wealth of experience in coaching youngsters, acquired from several coaching internships. Most notable among them is a stint at Elkin Sports Performance where he coached a range of novice to professional athletes. He has also worked with the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Men’s Soccer Team and the VCU T.E.E.N.S Program-a weight management and lifestyle change program for inner-city kids in Richmond VA. Bamfo, is a certified exercise physiologist through the American College of Sports Medicine and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science.
